Bull Run Middle School Designated 2014 School of Excellence
Our students have the distinction of attending a newly named PWCS School of Excellence. This is the 3rd consecutive year Bull Run Middle School has earned the coveted title. Bull Run Middle School has earned the distinction of School of Excellence 7 times since opening in the fall of 2002.

School of Excellence is the highest recognition awarded to schools by the PWCS School Board. It signifies high levels of performance on state accreditation, Annual Measurable Objectives, and in moving toward the goals of the Division’s Strategic Plan.

Congratulations to everyone who helped to earn this important indicator of student success.

Thanks to the many families who graciously donated on-line to our "Help for the Holidays" fund. Your donations along with our BRMS staff and the PTSO allowed us to help more that 45 families for this holiday season. Happy Holidays to all! 
Yearbook Presales Have Begun!
Yearbook presales are now underway.  The 2015 BRMS yearbook costs $30.  Name plates must be ordered by December 19th.  After December 19th, yearbook orders will still be accepted, but name plates will no longer be available.  Pre-ordering a yearbook guarantees that you receive a book.  Print off an order form here and follow the directions on the form. 
Office 365 for Students
In January, all 7th grade students will be activating their Microsoft Office 365 accounts. Once activated, students will have access to email as well as online versions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, and OneNote which they can utilize at school or at home. In addition, students will have 5 licenses to download MS Office 2013 on their home computers, laptops, cell phones, and/or tablets. Battlefield HS Specialty Program
The Battlefield Information Technology and STEM specialty program will have an informational meeting on January 8th at 7PM. The sessions will include details on: graphic arts, networking, programming, Project Lead the Way, robotics and web technologies. For more information, please contact Mr. Joseph Huddle.

Concussion Seminars for 2014-15
All 6th graders and all new students to the county must complete a concussion seminar in person in order to try-out for a sport. The following are the dates for the seminars for the 2014-15 school year:
 
January 20th - 6:00
March 17th - 6:00

The online seminar is available to those students and parents who have completed the in-person seminar the previous year. You must print the certificate and turn it in to Mr. Bianco, Athletic Coordinator for Bull Run.

Attendance Line
Bull Run Middle School has an automated Attendance Phone Line that you can use to call in any student absences. Simply dial 703-753-7125, and leave a message including the first and last name of the student (with spelling), the student's grade level, your relationship to the student, and reason for missing school. If your student is out sick, please indicate the doctor’s diagnosis or the symptoms your student is having. Thank you! 

Parent Portal
Bull Run Middle School staff members are available to collect parent portal forms in the front office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Parents need to show a photo id and give the signed form (emailed to them within 3 days of initial registration) to a front office staff member to have their account activated.  More information on this process can be found by clicking on the "Parent Portal" tab on the left side of the front page of this website.
